On the eve of the New Year 2024, we decided to share with you recipes for canapes sauces. After all, New Year’s banquets, receptions and home feasts are ahead, where canapes are often served.

For Caprese canapes

This is almost an original recipe for pesto sauce. In the classic version, Parmesan is used, but for simplicity, you can take any hard, not bitter cheese. It is advisable not to change the remaining ingredients.


  • Leaves of green basil from two bunches;
  • Extra Virgin olive oil — 70-100 ml;
  • Hard cheese — 100 gr.;
  • Cedar nuts — 2 tbsp. l
  • Garlic — 2 cloves.
  • Salt to taste


  1. The nuts need to be lightly fried, but not overcooked.
  2. Grate garlic and cheese.
  3. Immerse everything in a blender glass along with half the oil and start punching.
  4. Next, if necessary, add more oil and add salt.

This dip sauce is ideal for Caprese canapes, mozzarella canapes or sun-dried tomatoes. It will be interesting and unusual to serve such canapes with pesto sauce in a glass, as in the photo above.

For shrimp canapes

A simple and quick sour cream sauce with garlic and herbs, which is easy to make with your own hands.


  • High–fat sour cream – 200 gr.;
  • Garlic – 2 cloves;
  • Dill – half a bunch;
  • Salt and pepper to taste.

How to do it:

  1. Squeeze the garlic through a garlic press.
  2. Chop the dill.
  3. Add them to the sour cream, add salt, pepper, and mix.

It is advisable to keep the sauce in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, but it is ready for use immediately after cooking.

For canapes with cheese

We all know that cheese goes well with a pear, so we decided to make a pear sauce for cheese canapes.

We will need:

  • Sweet pears – 2 pcs.;
  • Onion turnip – 1 pc.;
  • balsamic vinegar – 50 ml.;
  • Lemon – 1 pc.;
  • Sugar – 50 gr.;
  • Hot pepper to taste;

How to cook:

  1. Chop the lemon zest.
  2. Squeeze the juice from the lemon.
  3. Chop the pears and onions into small cubes.
  4. Add finely chopped pepper to your taste.
  5. Put all the ingredients of the sauce in a saucepan with a thick bottom and simmer over medium heat for about

  7. If the sauce remains liquid, then add heat and evaporate excess moisture.

In fact, this is one of the variants of the Indian pear sauce – chutney, but it’s just great for canapes with cheese!

For canapes with mozzarella and cherry tomatoes

Yogurt-based sauce is always relevant to tomatoes and cucumbers, respectively, for canapes in which these vegetables are very suitable.


  • Greek yogurt – 1 jar;
  • Garlic – 1 tooth;
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp. l.;
  • Dill – 1 bunch;
  • Salt and pepper to taste.

Step-by-step recipe:

  1. Chop the garlic or pass it through a press.
  2. Chop the dill as small as possible.
  3. Add everything to the yogurt, add lemon juice, pepper and salt, and mix.

For canapes with herring

Well, what a herring without butter and onions, so in this mustard dressing sauce they will come in the best possible way.

We will need:

  • Balsamic vinegar – 5 tbsp. l.;
  • Olive oil – 10 tbsp. l.;
  • Russian mustard – 0.5 tsp. l.;
  • Green onion – 6 feathers;
  • Sugar pinch;
  • Salt and pepper to taste.

Cooking recipe:

  1. Mix vinegar with salt and sugar.
  2. We introduce oil with mustard and drive it to the emulsion.
  3. Add finely chopped onion, mix again.

Without mustard, the sauce will be very liquid and delaminate, so it is necessary to add it. It is also suitable for canapes with salmon, salmon and any red fish.

For sausage canapes

Where there’s sausage, there’s cheese! So the sauce for the appetizer with sausage will be cheesy. You can also make cheese fondue, but for this you already need to have a set of special devices.


  • Hard cheese – 100 gr.;
  • Cheddar cheese (available in plates) – 100 gr.;
  • Butter – 1 tbsp. l.;
  • Flour – 1 tbsp. l.;
  • Cream – 150 ml;
  • A pinch of nutmeg.


  1. First of all, fry the flour in butter, until a nutty smell appears.
  2. Then we introduce the cream, working with a whisk all the time.
  3. Grate or finely chop the cheese and gradually add it to the sauce.
  4. When everything has become one, sprinkle with a pinch of nutmeg and mix again.

Serve the sauce both hot and cold with a canapé with sausage, ham, salt or chicken breast.

For a fruit canape

And finally, the sauce for the fruit canapes. Children will especially like it, because it will be chocolate sauce.


  • Cream – 1 cup;
  • Chocolate – 1 bar;
  • Vanilla is on the tip of a knife;
  • Butter -1 tbsp. l.;
  • Sugar to taste.

How to do it:

  1. Melt the chocolate in the microwave, but make sure it doesn’t burn.
  2. Enter the cream and immediately start mixing with a whisk of chocolate.
  3. Next, start adding oil.
  4. At the very end, try it and if there is not enough sweetness for your taste, then add sugar.

Almost all canapes with fruits are combined with this sauce, be it pineapple, pear, kiwi, banana, grapes, berries and even melon.
