Composition:
- tomato paste – 4 tbsp. L.;
- water – 60 ml;
- change – 1 h. l.;
- sugar – 1 tbsp. L.;
- olive oil – 40 ml;
- oregano – 1 tsp. l.;
- ground black pepper – 1 pinch.

- Combine water and tomato in an enamel bowl. Stir until dissolved.
- Turn on medium heat.
- After 1 minute, add all other ingredients. Stir thoroughly again until smooth.
- Wait until it boils.
- Reduce gas to the limit. Boil for another 3 minutes.
The cooked sauce should be tasted while it is still hot. You may have to add salt or sugar – this depends on the properties of the purchased paste.
After all, different manufacturers have different tastes – more or less sour. If you had to add salt or sugar, the sauce should be returned to the heat and boiled for another 2 minutes.
Italian
To prepare homemade pizza sauce like in Italy, you will have to spend more time than the classic one described above. You will also need fresh tomatoes.
But the taste of the Italian sauce is completely different. This sauce is ideal for pepperoni pizza and other Italian varieties, especially on thin crust.

- tomato (fresh) – 5 pcs.;
- tomato paste – 1 tbsp. L.;
- dry red wine – 1 tsp;
- sugar – 1 tsp. l.;
- oregano – 0.5 tsp. l.;
- thyme – 0.5 tsp;
- marjoram – 1 pinch;
- salt

- Remove the skin from fresh tomatoes. The easiest way to do this is to lower the fruits into boiling water for 40 seconds. Then, it will be enough to cut the peel crosswise, and removing it will not be difficult.

- Add pasta and wine. To stir thoroughly.
You can’t make a real Italian sauce without fresh tomatoes. If it’s winter outside, and store-bought tomatoes don’t inspire confidence, it’s better to look for cherry tomatoes on a branch, they are always more fragrant.

Mayonnaise-tomato sauce is another great option for pizza sauce based on tomato paste. With this recipe, your baked goods will taste truly homemade.

- tomato paste – 3 tbsp. L.;
- mayonnaise (fat content – 67%) – 7 tbsp. l.;
- water – 30 ml;
- garlic – 2 cloves;
- dill – 3 sprigs;
- ground black pepper – 1 pinch.

By the way, you can make homemade mayonnaise with your own hands. And if you watch your figure and prepare PP pizza, then make healthy mayonnaise.

How to replace tomato paste
It is not always possible to use tomato paste in cooking. Some may not like the taste, while others may simply forget to buy this product. This is not a problem – there are many ways to replace the pasta without compromising the taste and aroma of the sauce.
Way | Description | Proportions |
Fresh tomatoes | They give a very rich taste and aroma. If possible, it is always better to use tomatoes rather than paste. But you also need to tinker with them longer – peel them, chop them, boil down the excess juice. | 1:1 (average tomato equals 1 tbsp paste) |
Canned tomatoes | You need to remove the skin, simmer for 10-15 minutes, and then drain the liquid. The remaining pulp is an excellent substitute for pasta. Taste varies slightly, but the characteristic flavor suits pizza very well. | 1:2 |
Tomato sauce | Can be used for pizza “Krasnodar” sauce and its analogues produced by different brands. It works with all recipes, but you don’t need to add water. | 1:3 (instead of 1 tbsp pasta, add 3 tbsp sauce) |
Tomato passata | This product is essentially diluted tomato paste. Therefore, it can be added to pizza without diluting it with water. | 1:3 |
Tomato puree | Almost similar to the Passata. You’ll have to simmer it down a bit on low heat, but otherwise it’s an excellent pasta substitute. | 1:3 |
Tomato juice | The taste of tomatoes is conveyed very well by tomato juice in pizza. But in order for the dressing to acquire the required thickness, the juice will have to be boiled down heavily – this is time-consuming. | 1:4 |
Ketchup | Regular ketchup in pizza sauce also works very well. There is no need to dilute with water either. The downside is that the ketchup is very rich, so all pizzas will taste slightly different. | 1:1 |
