- Peppercorns – 1 tsp.
- Bay leaf – 1 pc.
- Sugar – 1 h. l.
- Salt to taste
How to prepare the gravy:
- First of all, chop the onion and grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
- Then pour oil into the frying pan and begin to fry the vegetables, but there is no need to fry them.
- As soon as the vegetables are lightly fried, add tomato paste and sauté it thoroughly, you can even burn it a little.
- It’s time to pour in water, but not all of it, 400 grams, then throw in the pepper and bay leaves, bring to a boil.
- Pour in sugar and add salt, let it bubble slowly over low heat.
- In the remaining water, thoroughly dilute the flour and slowly, not all at once, mix it into our sauce, thereby thickening it.
- Once you have reached the desired thickness, simmer for another five minutes and the sauce is ready!
If you are afraid of lumps from flour, you can strain the sauce through a sieve. This makes such a delicious tomato sauce for meatballs baked in the oven. But you can simmer the meatballs right in this frying pan, in this sauce.
