All sauces are Barbecue and are primarily used as marinades, glazes, or simply served with meat. The range of sauces is varied, from honey to hot, but all of them are smoky. So let’s try making Jack Daniel’s BBQ sauce from Friday’s.
Classic recipe, like on Friday’s
Of course, let’s not lie, restaurant sauce has its own nuances and the ingredients may differ. But our sauce is very close and does not differ in taste from the original Jack Daniel’s sauce.
In addition, our recipe is not complicated, although it does require cooking time. But making this sauce yourself is not difficult at all. Let’s say right away that the pineapples and juice used in the recipe are canned.
Composition:
- Whiskey Jack Daniel’s – 70 ml
- Water – 50 ml.
- Pineapple juice – 100 ml.
- Soy sauce – 70 ml.
- Juice of half a lime – 0.5 pcs.
- Cane sugar – 5 tbsp. l.
- Granulated garlic – 0.5 tsp.
- Pineapple – 1 ring.
- Ground red and black pepper to taste
Homemade recipe:
- Place a thick-bottomed saucepan over medium-high heat and pour pineapple juice and water into it.
- Now add sugar and dry garlic, squeeze in the juice from half a lime and pepper.
- Meanwhile, cut one pineapple ring into small cubes and place in a saucepan.
- And finally soy sauce and pour whiskey into the future sauce.
- Let it evaporate for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally until it becomes a thick glaze.
Now about the ingredients, you can safely replace Jack Daniel’s whiskey with any bourbon. In principle, you can also use regular sugar, but it’s better not to replace the lime with lemon. The original uses cayenne pepper on the tip of a knife, but you can also use ground red pepper, just be careful not to overdo it.
It is better to apply the Jack Daniels glaze to a hot dish, so it will immediately penetrate the meat and imbue it with its flavor. By the way, you can prepare Jack Daniels sauce with honey, to do this, replace five tablespoons of sugar with four tablespoons of honey. And get Jack Daniel’s honey sauce.
Experiment, friends! Instead of soy sauce, try Teriyaki sauceor combine it with Worcestershire sauce . And garlic for a recipe is sometimes baked in the oven, then mashed and added to the sauce.
And if you don’t want to wait until it evaporates, then dilute a little cornstarch in 50 milliliters of water and add to the sauce. This will thicken the sauce, but evaporation makes it more concentrated and therefore tastier.
