Who among us doesn’t love dumplings? But not everyone likes them just boiled or fried, but with sauce, that’s another matter! The sauce can be poured over the dumplings or dipped, and sometimes even cooked directly in the sauce.

Of course, you can simply add mayonnaise, ketchup or ready-made sauce. But we suggest making sauces for dumplings at home; the recipes are simple and quick.

Recipes for vinegar sauces for dumplings

Since Soviet times, it has been a custom to eat dumplings with vinegar. In dumpling shops there was always a bowl of vinegar on the tables, into which the dumplings were dipped. It is believed that this tradition came from Uzbekistan.

But perhaps vinegar was simply the most accessible “sauce”. Now, of course, you can find different vinegars and make the vinegar dressings themselves more interesting. Now about how to make sauces from vinegar for dumplings.

Vinegar and garlic

We will need:

  • Vinegar 9% – 30 ml
  • Water – 100 ml
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Pepper, salt to taste

Cooking process:

  1. Three garlic on a fine grater or press through a press.
  2. We dilute the vinegar with water and add garlic, salt, pepper, and stir.
  3. The sauce is ready!

  • Vinegar 9% – 30 ml
  • Water – 100 ml
  • Russian mustard – 1 tsp.
  • Pepper, salt to taste

Cooking process:

  1. Just mix all the ingredients (you can use a blender).

This is probably the fastest sauce for dumplings!

Of course, you can use regular horseradish, but let’s make a simple vinegar and horseradish sauce.

We will need:

  • Vinegar 9% – 30 ml
  • Water – 100 ml
  • Horseradish root
  • Pepper, salt to taste

How to do:

  1. Grate the horseradish root on a fine grater; one teaspoon is enough for our amount of water and vinegar.
  2. Add vinegar and horseradish to the water, pepper and stir, salt to taste.
  3. Let it brew for 20 minutes and the sauce is ready!

As you can see, sauces with vinegar are very easy to prepare. The main rule here is to dilute 9% vinegar 1:3, then the sauce will be moderately strong. This is of course a matter of taste, but mustard, garlic and horseradish will also add spiciness.

For a richer taste, you can use balsamic vinegar. Then the sauce for dumplings made from vinegar, like in the USSR, will become nobler.

Sour cream dumpling sauce

If you are tired of dumplings with sour cream, then here are a couple of recipes for sauces made from it. They are also quick and easy to prepare. In addition, even children enjoy eating sour cream sauce for dumplings. Especially if you prepare homemade or PP mayonnaise.

We will need:

  • Sour cream – 2 tbsp. l.
  • Mayonnaise – 1 tbsp. l.
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Greens – 0.3 bunch
  • Salt to taste

How to cook:

  1. The most important thing here is to chop the herbs and garlic using a grater or garlic press.
  2. Then mix everything, add salt and let it brew for a while.
  3. Dumpling sauce with sour cream is ready!

This sauce is also suitable for fish dumplings, but it wouldn’t hurt to add one tablespoon of soy sauce. Remove the mayonnaise (although this is a matter of taste) and here you have a delicious sauce for fried dumplings made from sour cream.

Sour cream and garlic sauce for dumplings is convenient because you can dip it in it, like in deep sauce. Therefore, it is also often served as sauce for French fries.

  • Sour cream – 2 tbsp. l.
  • Ketchup or tomato paste – 1 tbsp. l.
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp.
  • Mustard – 1 tsp.
  • Salt, pepper to taste

Cooking process:

The whole process consists of mixing all the ingredients, then adding pepper and salt to the sauce and you’re done!

Sauce for dumplings made from sour cream and ketchup, it’s practically ketchunese if you replace sour cream with mayonnaise. You can also replace sour cream with Greek yogurt or matsoni.

In this case, the sauce for yogurt dumplings will also be more dietary. And of course you can add any of your favorite greens. And if you remove the tomato component and add grated cheese, you get a cheese sauce for dumplings.

This sauce is for ketchup lovers. A delicious sauce for dumplings can be made at home from tomato paste. But it’s better to take Krasnodar sauce or, as in our case, good tomato juice, preferably with pulp.

We will need:

  • Tomato juice – 1 glass
  • Balsamic vinegar – 2 tsp. l.
  • Vegetable oil – 1 tsp.
  • Dried basil – 0.3 tsp.
  • Ground coriander – 0.3 tsp.
  • Garlic – 1 clove 
  • Sugar – 0.3 h. l.
  • Cilantro – 0.3 bunches
  • Salt, pepper to taste

How to make delicious sauce for dumplings:

  1. Place tomato juice in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Pour in tomato juice, oil and vinegar, mix.
  3. Next add chopped garlic and sugar with spices.
  4. After simmering for 7-10 minutes, the sauce will evaporate a little and thicken, then add pepper and salt if the juice is not salty.
  5. Remove from heat and add chopped cilantro.
  6. Red sauce for dumplings is ready!

If you use tomato paste, dilute one tablespoon in a glass of water. Krasnodar sauce can not be diluted, and balsamic vinegar can be replaced with lemon juice.

For those who like it a little spicier, sprinkle some red pepper. And for more garlic, add grated garlic at the end along with cilantro. Which of course can be replaced with any greens. The sauce is good not only for dumplings, but for manti.

This is one of the options creamy mushroom sauce, which can be used not only for dumplings. If you like mushrooms, then this sauce is for you.

We will need:

  • Sour cream 30% – 6 tbsp. l.
  • Champignons – 2 pcs.
  • Onion – 0.3 bulbs
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Vegetable oil – 1 tbsp. l.
  • Salt, pepper to taste

How to make sauce for dumplings:

  1. Cut the onions and mushrooms into small cubes and begin to fry the onions in oil.
  2. As soon as the onion has become transparent, add the mushrooms and fry until crispy.
  3. Then stir in the sour cream and squeeze the garlic into it through a garlic press.
  4. After a couple of minutes, pepper and add salt.
  5. Delicious sauce for dumplings is ready!

If you add half a teaspoon of ground paprika, the sauce will acquire a beautiful pink color. Dill is also suitable for it, and for thickness you can mix in a little flour. Then you will get practically mushroom béchamel for dumplings.

And by the way, this is a great homemade sauce for fried dumplings. We recommend pouring this sauce over the dumplings; dipping into it is not very convenient.

This sauce is very good during Lent, when you can eat fish. The sauce for fish dumplings can be prepared using lean mayonnaise.

We will need:,

  • Lean mayonnaise – 3 tbsp. l.
  • Pickled cucumber – 1 pc.
  • Garlic – 0.5 cloves
  • Salt and pepper

Cooking process:

  1. Grate the cucumber on a fine grater and squeeze out excess water.
  2. Add to mayonnaise and add three garlic, pepper and salt.
  3. And the sauce for the fish dumplings is ready!

As you can see, the sauce for fish dumplings is very easy to prepare at home. This sauce can be called  fast tartar. Of course, mayonnaise can not only be lean; it can generally be replaced with healthy mayonnaise.

China and Pan-Asian cuisine, this is of course good soy sauce, spices and garlic with ginger. Let’s not forget about the spice, where would we be without it.

We will need:

  • Soy sauce – 2 tbsp. l.
  • Water – 1 tbsp. l.
  • Vegetable oil – 1 tbsp. l.
  • Rice vinegar – 2 tsp.
  • Honey – 1 tsp.
  • Chili pepper – 1/3 pod.
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Fresh ginger – 2 cm
  • Cilantro a couple of sprigs
  • Sesame seed – 0.5 tsp.

Now we make the sauce for the dumplings:

  1. Grate the garlic and ginger on a fine grater.
  2. Squeeze the ginger and add the resulting juice to soy sauce mixed with water.
  3. Melt the honey and add it to the sauce along with vinegar and oil, stir thoroughly until emulsified.
  4. Finely chop the pepper and cilantro and add it to the sauce along with garlic and sesame seeds and mix again.
  5. Let it brew and the spicy sauce for dumplings is ready!

The sauce recipe for Chinese dumplings is also good for fried dumplings. With soy sauce and hot peppers, it’s a bomb for the taste buds.

Sweet and sour, hot, spicy, it will go great with any dumplings! Be it fish, fried or even shrimp dumplings.
